THE CROW AND THE FOX
Acrow once sat on a tree. She had a large piece of cheese in her mouth.
A fox came near the tree. He looked up and saw the crow. He saw the cheese also. He wanted the cheese.
So he said to the crow. "How beautiful you are! What nice eyes you have! How beautiful your feathers are! What a pity you can not sing!"
"Of course I can sing, said the crow. She then opened her mouth and began to sing. "Caw! Caw!" she sang.
When she opened her mouth, the piece of cheese fell down and the fox took it and ate it.
"Thank you," said the fox. "The cheese was nice, and you sing very well. What a pity you don't also think well!"



TİLKİ VE KARGA
Birgün bir karga bir ağaca kondu. Ağzında büyük bir parça peynir vardı.
Ağacın yanına bir tilki geldi. Yukarı baktı ve kargayı gördü. Peyniri de gördü. Peyniri istedi.
Böylece kargaya dedi ki, "Sen ne kadar güzelsin! Ne güzel gözlerin var! Ne güzel tüylerin var! Ne yazık ki ötemiyorsun!
Karga "Tabi ötebilirim" dedi. Ondan sonra ağzını açtı ve ötmeye başladı. "Gak! Gak!" diye öttü.
Ağzını açtığı zaman peynir parçası düştü ve tilki onu aldı ve yedi. Tilki "Teşekkür ederim", dedi. "Peynir güzeldi ve sen iyi ötüyorsun. Ne yazık ki iyi düşünemiyorsun!"

THE CLEVER CROW
Asmall crow once wanted to drink. She saw a jug and went to it. There was not much water in the jug. The crow could not put her head into the jug and so she could not drink the water.
But the crow wanted very much to drink. What could she do?
In the end she did this. She took a small stone and threw it into the jug. Then she took another stone and threw it intothe jug. Then she took another stone and yet another stone. She threw many stones into the jug.
The water came up to the middle of the jug, but the crow could not yet drink. So the crow took another stone and threw it into the jug. Then she took another stone and another stone and yet another stone. Finally the water came to the top of the jug, and now the clever crow could drink.




AKILLI KARGA
Bir gün bir küçük karga susamıştı. Bir testi gördü ve ona doğru gitti. Testinin içinde çok su yoktu. Başını testinin içine sokamadı ve su içemedi.
Fakat karga su içmeyi çok istiyordu. Ne yapabilirdi?
Sonunda bunu yaptı. Küçük bir taş aldı ve testinin içine attı. Sonra başka bir taş aldı ve testinin içine attı. Sonra başka bir taş aldı ve başka bir tane daha. Testinin içine bir çok taş attı.
Su testisinin yarısına kadar yükseldi. Fakat karga henüz su içemiyordu. Böylece karga bir taş daha aldı ve testinin içine attı. Sonra başka bir taş daha ve bir taş daha. En sonunda su testinin üstüne kadar geldi ve şimdi akıllı karga suyu içti.

There was once an old house. In the house there were many mice. There was also a cat in the house. The cat killed many mice every day.
The mice did not know what to do. So one day they all came together and began to speak about the cat."What can we do?" they said. "The bad cat will kill us all."
"I know what to do," said one little mouse. "The cat catches us because we don't hear her before she comes into the room."
"That's very good," said all the mice. "Now the bad cat will not catch us."
They were very jolly till a clever old mouse asked them this question: "Who will put the bell on the cat?"



ÇINGIRAKLI KEDİ
Bir zamanlar eski bir ev vardı. Evde bir çok fare vardı. Evde bir de kedi vardı. Kedi her gün bir çok fareyi öldürüyordu.
Fareler ne yapacaklarını bilmiyorlardı. Bir gün hepsi bir araya toplandılar ve kedi hakkında konuşmaya başladılar. "Ne yapabiliriz" dediler. "Kötü kedi hepimizi öldürecek."
Küçük bir fare "Ben ne yapacağımızı biliyorum." dedi. "Kedi bizi yakalıyor. Çünkü biz onu duymuyoruz. Boynuna bir çıngırak takalım, odaya girmeden önce onu duyarız."
Bütün fareler "Bu çok iyi" dediler."Şimdi artık bu kötü kedi bizi yakalayamayacak."
Önce çok neşelendiler fakat akıllı yaşlı bir fare şu soruyu sordu: "Kediye çıngırağı kim takacak?"
